Newtrix Head Halter in Multiple Sizes

From the NewTrix website: “the NewTrix dog halter is guaranteed to make walking your dog a comfortable experience. It is not a muzzle. It is a tool to make dog training and dog walking a simple, safe and fun experience for everyone.” Click HERE for a graphic sharing more information about head halters and Service Dogs.

NewTrix Dog Halters are trusted by trainers the world over and have revolutionized working and Service Dog training. Far from simply teaching “polite walking,” Newtrixes also encourage and engrain impulse control, handler focus and other important Service Dog behaviors. NewTrix is the official training collar of the Canadian-based organizations National Service Dogs and Autism Dog Services and has found its way into hundreds of other training organizations, Service Dog facilities, rescue groups, shelters and vet offices around the world.

As a special thanks to our members and friends for helping us encourage voluntary acceptance of Service Dog training and behavior standards, we’re giving away free gear, books, treats and more with our 2015 Howly Jowly Gear Giveaway!

This would be cool for my future SD. I think a head halter is a useful thing to have around as a training aid.

  • Cindy Morgan December 11, 2013

Not sure what I need to do but I will do what I can….it may be fun!

  • tiewolf December 11, 2013

A neat looking head halter; I would be interested to see how my boy would like one of these versus the gentle leader one I have for him when he’s working.

  • Leslie December 11, 2013

Looks like the “Gentle Leader.” I’d love it, and Bella would too. 🙂

  • Heather E. L. Gerquest December 11, 2013

Not so sure my service dog would love this, but I might if it works!

  • Carold December 11, 2013

I would like to try something different from the Gentle Leader with Eddy, so we could get out more than we do now.

  • maxhanckel December 12, 2013

i could really use a new one of these!

  • Jason December 12, 2013

might help me stop my pooch from pulling

    Love these!

  • Kat Davis December 12, 2013

I’d love to have one of these so my Fluffy Service Dog Overlord and I can have a broad variety of communication options open to us!

this would be great for my bossy lady

  • Cindy morgan AS/ade December 14, 2013

A head halter works for training but most are poorly designed ….. Would like to try this one to see if better

  • Kassie Stone December 14, 2013

My GSD SDit pulls very hard on the leash. My hands do not work very well so this would be a blessing. Tried the gentle leader, it helped but didn’t stop the pulling. I know how this leash works and I believe it would solve my problem.

    • Kea Grace December 16, 2013

Newtrixes definitely work miracles and they operate on a far different principle than the Gentle Leader. The Gentle Leader is, however, an excellent tool for some dogs. Like any tool, though, it doesn’t work for all. The Freedom Harness may be another tool you may wish to consider.

  • fuglyzombie101 December 17, 2013

I’ve never seen a head collar like this, very cool design!

  • korrie December 17, 2013

Best tool ever! we could sure use a new one!

  • Kristin Myers December 17, 2013

I would love to have one of these for my sd in training

  • Laurie A Westover December 17, 2013

I would be willing to try this on my Service dog who I use a pinch collar on now.

    • Kea Grace December 22, 2013

The two tools work very differently and create different behaviors. We’re really, really, really crossing our paws for you and your partner to win a Newtrix – we think you’ll love it and the results!

  • Misty Barton December 17, 2013

This would be a nice tool!

  • Teresa Dumas December 17, 2013

I would like to try the Newtrixes, IF they have one in a small. I need something to encourage my Zeus to walk without pulling so much…..

  • Beth Camp December 18, 2013

this looks so much more comfortable than the halter we are currently using. Would love to be able to make Thor’s work more comfortable.

  • Monica Ramsey McClain December 18, 2013

Nice halter though I have not used one. I can see where it might help.

  • Kim November 29, 2015

I would love to see how this compares to the Gentle Leader, which I use with my diabetes alert dog at times right now. It looks like a cool halter and might be more comfortable.

  • Marjorie Satterfield November 29, 2015

    Mmmm I need more convincing

  • Betty Jean Pearson November 30, 2015

My hands are almost useless so I need to know how it fastens. I cannot fasten a gentle leader.

    • Kea Grace December 8, 2015

It slides on over your dog’s head and fits loosely and comfortable. There are no buckles or snaps.

  • Alexa December 8, 2015

I will be training a pup to become a future SD for myself (with a help of a trainer) and this would be awesome to have to help in the process.

  • Jennifer December 8, 2015

This would so help me with training my service dog pup Guardian Angel

  • Mark December 15, 2015

At 120 pounds, my mobility service dog Bandito sometimes gets distracted by people wanting to interact with him while he’s working. This would be a useful tool to help me manage him through these distractions.
